Students are invited to participate in a conference addressing issues related to peace, justice and conflict resolution. The format will include paper panels, roundtable discussions, workshops, reflections on social justice and social change, and an opportunity to meet with representatives of a range of DC-area non-profits. Interested organizations may contact any of the CAAPS representatives to the meeting.
Topics are to include, but are not limited to:
Conflict analysis and conflict resolution
Contemporary regional issues
Gender and race
Ethnic relations
Nonviolence in theory and practice
Human rights
The environment and sustainable development
You may participate by:
Joining a student panel and giving a 10-15 minute presentation on your
research
Joining a roundtable discussion on a topic of shared interest
Acting as a moderator or respondent in discussions following student presentations
Offering or taking part in workshops
Helping to organize the conference
Deadline for submission of abstracts is 10 April 2004
