Effective January 1, 2012, new university parking rates will go into effect. Rate increases this year are primarily the result of an increase in the District of Columbia (DC) Government parking tax rate, from 12% to 18%.  Additionally, each year we review rates as compared to market prices. As a result of our current parking transition and the university’s desire to encourage carpooling and other alternate commuting arrangements, rates for Kennedy Center parking and registered carpools will not increase.

Lerner Health and Wellness Center Parking Garage will provide service to occassional parkers beginning Monday, September 26, 2011.

Parking rates increase October 1, 2011 due to DC Government tax rate increase: Earlier this year, the DC Government voted to increase the tax rate for parking garages and lots from 12% to 18% beginning October 1, 2011. As such, university parking rates, which include the DC parking tax, will be adjusted to reflect the new 18% tax rate starting Saturday, October 1, 2011. A schedule of the new parking rates with the increased tax included is detailed in this document, and detailed in the graphic below.
