Withdrawals and Refunds: Summer 2008

Students are reminded to drop or withdraw from courses prior to the start of a session. Reducing credits, once asession has begun, results in the loss of a prorated portion of tuition - please avoid this.

Courses dropped May 19, 2008 - May 25, 2008 or July 7, 2008 - July 14, 2008, will have 75% of tuition and fees refunded in cases of program adjustment or withdrawal from classes. For courses dropped ON or AFTER May 26 (for Summer Session I) and ON or AFTER July 14 (for Summer Session II), 100% tuition and fee penalties are assessed.

Non-degree students are advised to be certain of their registration load prior to the start of the semester to avoid losing any tuition or fees. Your course load, work load and family situation should also be considered prior to registration. An approved method of payment should also be in place prior to making a contractual commitment of registration.

A student is NOT penalized financially for credit reduction to his registration prior to the start of the semester. Credit reduction due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances should be petitioned and appealed to the proper administrative office. Main campus students should contact the Office of University Students, and off campus students should contact Jack Chatman, Manager of Student Services at (202) 496-6293 or jchatman@gwu.edu.
