Dr. Patricia Tate, Director

Welcome to the Office of Laboratory Experiences (OLE) - an office dedicated to supporting the clinical components of the teacher preparation programs in the Department of Teacher Preparation and Special Education (DTPSE) at The George Washington University's Graduate School of Education. As the name implies, laboratory experiences in teacher preparation take place in school settings and are designed to connect theory to practice for teacher candidates studying for teacher or counselor licensure in the following areas:

Besides its primary function of providing support services for field placements, the OLE
disseminates information and provides guidance to program areas with regard to certification
requirements for teacher licensure under the National Association of State Directors of Teacher
Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate Compact Agreements and the National
Council  for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
