INAUGURATION OF STEVEN KNAPP AS ITS 16TH PRESIDENT
NOV. 16, 2007

EVENT: 

The George Washington University will celebrate the inauguration of Steven Knapp as the 16th president in its186-year history on Friday, Nov. 16, at the Charles E. Smith Center. The ceremony will bring together GW's global community - trustees, faculty, students, staff, and alumni - as well as distinguished visitors to honor President Knapp. 

WHEN:  

Friday, Nov. 16, 2007
9 a.m.: Media Check-in (lower level of Smith Center, entrance at 22nd and G streets)
10:30 a.m. - Noon: Installation Ceremony

WHERE:  

The George Washington University
Charles E. Smith Center
600 22nd St., NW, Washington, D.C.
Foggy Bottom-GWU Metro (Orange and Blue Lines) 

NOTES:  

All media should complete set up by 10 a.m. A camera platform will be provided for electronic media. Limited parking for media will be available on F Street by reservation.  A parking pass is required and must be requested by Nov. 15. Media check-in is on the lower level of the Smith Center (entrance on 22nd and G streets) and will open at 9 a.m. for credentials. Credentials also may be picked up on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 2121 Eye St., NW, Suite 512.
