GW Law and Paralegal Faculty: Experts on Working with the Government

Richard D. Lieberman, GW Law School professorial lecturer; Jason D. Morgan, professorial lecturer in paralegal studies; and Philip Greene, graduate of the GW paralegal studies master's degree program, have written a new section for the 19th edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation. The GW team contributed a never-before-written portion on how to cite legal documents and actions that affect government contracts.

The Bluebook, named for its distinctive blue cover, prescribes the most widely used citation system in the United States and is a staple of every legal research and writing course, law office, courtroom, and law library in the country. It is a style guide compiled by the Harvard Law Review Association, the Columbia Law Review, the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, and the Yale Law Journal.

GW faculty members have a long-standing reputation as the foremost experts on the topic of government contracts law. GW Law professors emeriti Ralph C. Nash, Jr. and John Cibinic, Jr. are widely recognized as the patriarchs of government procurement law. They created the government contracts program at GW, co-wrote the field's foundational textbooks, and continue to publish a monthly newsletter on the subject. Cibinic passed away in Aug. 2005.
