GW's GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN HEALTHCARE CORPORATE COMPLIANCE RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS ACCREDITATION
WASHINGTON - In June, the Healthcare Compliance Certification Board (HCCB), which confers the premier accreditation within the healthcare compliance field, approved the accreditation of GW's Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance. This accreditation will strengthen the prestige of the University's certification program, which is jointly managed by GW's College of Professional Studies and School of Public Health and Health Services.
"The need for well-trained healthcare compliance officers could not be greater, and our academically based blended learning program is designed to be accessible to a broad range of healthcare professionals," said Phyllis C. Borzi, program director of GW's Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance and research professor of health policy in the School of Public Health and Health Services. "We sought this recognition from the HCCB to enable our students to augment their academic credentials in healthcare corporate compliance with certification by the preeminent organization of compliance professionals in the country."
Designed for working professionals, the 12-credit GW Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance provides students with a uniquely comprehensive view of healthcare corporate compliance. The course of study combines in-classroom work with an online distance learning component and credits may be applied toward a Master's of Public Health degree from GW's School of Public Health and Health Services.
The Health Care Compliance Association, which manages the board, exists to champion ethical practice and compliance standards as well as to provide the necessary resources for ethics and compliance professionals and others who share these principles.
GW's College of Professional Studies offers both full- and part-time undergraduate and graduate programs that continue the educational experience for those in emerging and rapidly changing professions. Programs draw on the expertise of GW faculty and outside partners - professional associations, community organizations, consulting enterprises, and industry leaders - to present innovative, forward-looking curricula with immediate relevance in today's workplaces.
