 The Following Statement May be Attributed to Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, 
President of The George Washington University

 This is a very sad day for our community. The tragic death of Hasan Hussain has left us dismayed and distressed. 

Hasan, a 19-year-old freshman studying in GW's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, was from Jacksonville, Florida.  He was a member of the Muslim Student Association and the Islamic Alliance for Justice.

Hasan was a well-liked young man and a very good student.  Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to his family and friends.
