GW Awards President's Medal to Peruvian President

Alejandro Toledo, president of Peru, addressed the Peruvian economic environment and business opportunities for U.S. firms in a speech delivered at GW on Tuesday. President Toledo's remarks followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between GW's Center for Latin American Issues and the Embassy of Peru that advances GW activities in Peru, including study abroad programs and lectures. GW President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg honored President Toledo with the University's President's Medal. READ

GW-Battleground 2004 Poll Shows Bush Slightly Ahead

The George Washington University Battleground 2004 Poll released Tuesday continues to show an intensely divided electorate. The aided Presidential ballot stands at 49 percent for George W. Bush and 45 percent for John F. Kerry. This survey finds fully 80 percent of "likely" voters have made a "definite" choice for President. READ
