Tree Dedicated to Celebrate 100 Years of the GW Name

Amid the first day of classes, a tree-planting ceremony commemorated the 100th anniversary of The George Washington University name, which was changed from Columbian University on Sept. 1, 1904. The University planted a six-foot clone of a circa 1785 white ash tree from George Washington's estate at Mount Vernon. READ

Latest GW-Battleground 2004 Poll Shows Divided Electorate

The George Washington University Battleground 2004 Poll continues to show an intensely divided electorate. The aided presidential ballot stands at 49 percent for John F. Kerry and 47 percent for George W. Bush. This survey finds fully 84 percent of "likely" voters have made a "definite" choice for president. READ
