GW/NASA Researchers Discover a New Member in Exotic
Class of Neutron Stars
Researchers from GW and NASA discovered
the first transient magnetar, a neutron star previously too
faint to be detected that recently increased dramatically
in brightness. The finding may ultimately fill in important
gaps in neutron star evolution and magnetar identification.
