Mammovan Receives $100,000 Grant From Avon Foundation

The GW Medical Faculty Associates Mobile Mammography Program has been awarded a one-year $100,000 grant from the Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund to support its work on this health issue. The only one of its kind in the area, the program provides screening mammograms to women in the underserved community six days a week. READ

Governor of Virginia, entrepreneur and GW graduate Mark R. Warner will deliver the keynote address to more than 5,400 graduates of the Class of 2003 at GW’s Commencement on the Ellipse, Sunday, May 18, at 10 a.m. Also receiving honorary degrees will be GW graduate and former U.S. Senator Jean Carnahan; Billy Taylor, renowned jazz pianist, composer, conductor, lecturer and author; Sheldon S. Cohen, former Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service; and Madeleine Jacobs, editor-in-chief of Chemical & Engineering News. READ
