GW played host to history on Tuesday as the U.S. Treasury Department transferred its law enforcement units, including the Customs Service and the Secret Service, to the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department. READ

GW Expands Debit Dollars Program to Campus Vending Machines

Members of The George Washington University community will no longer have to feed several campus vending machines their dollars and change to purchase a favorite snack. Instead, they now have the option of swiping their GWorld card. READ

First Responder  

First Responder Training Center To Be Established On GW’s Virginia Campus

GW will spearhead an effort to create a first responder training center on its Virginia Campus. The $5 million appropriation will establish the Response to Emergencies and Disasters Institute, or READI, to train firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement and other healthcare providers in an integrated approach to major emergencies including terrorism. GW Receives $5 Million Grant for Automotive Safety Research

Kennerly H. Digges, director of biomechanics and safety at the Federal Highway Administration/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration National Crash Analysis Center at GW, will direct the project aimed at further improving the safety of today’s automobiles, with specific attention to child safety.
