GW Names John F. “Skip” Williams New University Provost, Three Vice Presidents Promoted

Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, president of The George Washington University, has announced the appointment of John F. “Skip” Williams, M.D., Ed.D., to the newly reinstated position of University provost and the promotion of three other top administrators. Williams, whose appointment was effective Jan. 1, becomes the first person to serve as provost of GW in 14 years. READ

Rabin Forum Explores Terrorism

Jeffrey Goldberg, public policy scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center and staff writer of The New Yorker, along with Martin Kramer, Wexler-Fromer Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and editor of Middle East Quarterly, discussed “The Terrorism of Hizbollah: Ideology, Scope and Threat,” at this morning's forum hosted by GW and the Woodrow Wilson Center.

GW Hosts Gun Conference

GW hosted a citywide gun conference at the Marvin Center on Jan. 8 featuring local police agencies discussing ways to remove guns from neighborhoods. Among those speaking at the conference were D.C Mayor Anthony Williams, D.C. Police Chief Charles Ramsey, and GW President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg. READ

John Artz loves reading a good book, but he enjoys writing them even more. As an unassuming associate professor of management science, he spends his academic time focusing on computer structures. He’s finishing a non-fiction book now, but his real passion resides in his fiction pen, writing detective stories. READ
