Professor Ocampo, soprano, has performed extensively in opera, oratorio and musical theater. The many companies that she has performed with include: The Washington Opera, The Baltimore Opera Company, Skylight Opera Theater, Florentine Opera Company, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Brevard Music Center and Maryland Opera Studio. Favorite roles embody Queen of the Night (Magic Flute), Mary Warren (Crucible), Ilia (Idomeneo), Elle (La Voix Humaine), Gilda (Rigoletto), Susannah (Le Nozze Di Figaro), and Tuptim (The King and I). Dr. Ocampo was a Metropolitan Opera National Council Regional Finalist in 1993. Her doctoral dissertation, entitled Jean Cocteau: The Composerís Muse, was presented at the Poster Paper Sessions at the National Association of Teachers of Singing convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
