Studied at the Catholic University of America and the University of Maryland. He has formerly served as principal Bassist with the Richmond Symphony, the Alexandria Symphony, and the National Chamber Orchestra. He is currently principal bassist with the Washington Bach Consort.  He performs regularly with the Washington Opera, the Wolf Trap Opera, and the National Philharmonic, and Arena Stage.  He has played with the National Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Baltimore Opera, the Philadelphia Classical Symphony, Brandywine Baroque, the New York Trinity Chamber Players, and the Chesapeake Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Washington Ballet, the Baltimore Ballet, the New York City Ballet, the American Ballet Theater, and the Joffrey Ballet.  He has toured extensively with various jazz/pop groups. He has performed in Broadway musicals at the Kennedy Center, the National Theater, Warner Theater, Arena Stage, as well as at Baltimore's Lyric and Mechanic Theaters.

He has taught Double Bass at Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program, the Levine School of Music, and the Masterworks Festival.  He is currently on faculty at George Washington University, Howard University, and the National Philharmonic Summer Institute for Strings .
