Professor Field enjoys an active career as a chamber musician and soloist on both period and modern instruments. She teaches at Duke University and is concertmaster of the Bethlehem Bach Festival and the Bach Sinfonia of Washington, DC. She is also a member of the chamber ensembles Brandywine Baroque and ArcoVoce and has served as a guest concertmaster for the WashingtonChamber Symphony, the National Chamber Orchestra, and the Washington Bach Consort.

From 1993 to 1999 she served as Professor of Violin at California State University, Sacramento, and the University of California, Davis. While at Sacramento, she was a member of the Sun Quartet as well as the van Swieten Quartet, a period instrument group that was in residence at the Longy School of Music in Boston. Previously, Prof. Field performedand recorded extensively for Deutsche Grammophon with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Sony Classical, EES.A.Y, and Vox Cum Laude with The Classical Band and Philharmonia Virtuosi. She also performed extensively with The St. Luke’s Chamber Orchestra, Brooklyn Philharmonic, American Ballet Theater, The Handel and Haydn Society of Boston, and The City Opera of New York.
