The new distance education Certificate in Museum Collections Management and Care features four graduate-level courses designed for those working or volunteering in U.S. museums with collections management responsibilities and yet lacking prior formal museum studies training. Students may complete the four 3-credit courses totally online on a full-time (2 courses per semester) or part-time basis (1 course per semester) during a period of up to two years. Those working full-time are encouraged to take courses part-time due to the anticipated time commitment of approximately 10+ hours per week for each course.
Estimated course costs will be approximately $1,575 per 3-credit course.
On-line applicants must apply specifically for the Museum Collections Management and Care Certificate (Distance Education).
Museum Studies now offers 4 classes in Collections Management and Care, taught by many of the George Washington University's professors as well as experts in the museum field.
Designed for those working or volunteering in museums, but unable to attend a formal museum studies program, Museum Studies offers its Distance Education completely online.
Students completing all four courses will receive a graduate certificate in Museum Collections Management and Care from the George Washington University.
