Students in graduate courses in Public Administration and Public Policy have been conducting pro bono evaluations for non-profit organizations and local government agencies for 27 years. Under the supervision of Kathryn Newcomer, each spring teams of students had developed program logic models, surveyed clients, staff and other stakeholders, conducted cost benefit analyses and performed other analytical tasks to help the clients better understand the implementation and results of their programs. In the spring of 2008, evaluation projects were performed for the following organizations:
1) Alexandria (Virginia) Gang Prevention Mentoring Partnership
2) American Cancer Society (Volunteers Program)
3) Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) – two projects
4) DC Children & Youth Investment Trust Corp
