Hong Kong Museum of History

Established in July 1975, the Hong Kong Museum of History displays the natural environment, folk culture and historical development of Hong Kong through its permanent exhibition The Hong Kong Story which contains eight galleries. Among them, Gallery Seven tells the story of the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong for three years and eight months after December 25, 1941.

The permanent home of the Hong Kong Museum of History is funded by the Hong Kong Special Administration Region government, with a gross floor area of 17,500 square meters. The Hong Kong Museum of History runs three branch museums, namely the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense, the Lei Cheng UK Han Tomb Museum and Law UK Folk.
