Paul Kingery Director of the Hamilton Fish Institute on School and Community
Violence at GW
GW is one of seven universities that conduct research on behalf of The Hamilton Fish National Institute on School and Community Violence. The institute was established with assistance from Congress in 1996 to find ways to reduce violence in schools and communities nationwide. Before coming to GW last July, Dr. Kingery had been researching the issue of school violence prevention on projects for the Department of Health and Human Services, and in positions at Texas A&M University and the University of Kentucky. On Tuesday, May 18,1999, Kingery testified about the
problem of school violence to a House of Representatives subcommittee on Early Childhood, Youth and Families, part of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
