Background:

The program presents a unique opportunity for high-level IRS and Treasury officials, as well as leading private sector specialists and tax experts, to address current international tax issues and to offer perspectives on trends and developments.

Panels are designed to pair specialists from the IRS and the Treasury Department with leading private sector tax professionals and representatives of corporate tax departments. The first day will include sessions on cross-border issues in employee compensation, check-the-box elections, corporate tax compliance, and designing and managing global transfer pricing programs. The second day, featuring an “Ask the IRS” panel, will focus on corporate inversions, cross-border restructuring and U.S. trade.

Globalization of business operations and structures is a fact of life in the 21st century. International tax issues permeate all aspects of daily business activities and transactions. The pace of change requires familiarity with the shifting landscape and insights into current approaches to managing and resolving international tax issues. The 15th Annual Institute on Current Issues in International Taxation addresses and demystifies these issues for participants.
