Background:
Christine Dolan
is a
journalist and author of “A Shattered Innocence: The Millennium Holocaust,” an
investigative report on the exploitation of children emanating from the Balkans
crises. Dolan was so moved by the
horror she uncovered in her research for this report, that she founded the
International Humanitarian Campaign Against the Exploitation of Children
(IHCAEC) in May of 2001. In
researching her report, she spent nine weeks in Europe interviewing victims,
traffickers, law enforcement officials, bureaucrats, smugglers, clients, and
others. She is currently writing a
report on the Catholic Church and its ties to global trafficking, which will be
released in Washington, DC in mid-November.
As the first woman to be
appointed political director of any network in the country (CNN, 1984), Dolan’s
career in broadcast and print journalism is well established. In addition to her work for the IHCAEC,
Dolan heads The African Trust, which helps educate Americans on crucial
development needs within Africa. A
frequent traveler to the continent, she is presently developing two major
television series on Africa.
