Background:

The Loudoun County Public Schools Student Art Show features two-dimensional mixed media works by approximately 45 student artists from six Loudoun County schools: Loudoun Valley High School, Blue Ridge Middle School, Emerick Elementary, Round Hill Elementary, Lincoln Elementary and Hillsboro Elementary.  To open the exhibit, GW will host an Artist Recognition Reception with featured speaker, Dr. Edgar B. Hatrick, superintendent of the Loudoun County Public Schools.  The basis for Loudoun County Public Schools Visual Arts Program is to connect the student/creator to the power of the visual image and create a link between the arts of the past and present.  In grades one through twelve, basic learning goals have been set that strive to address the students’ sequential development through art in relation to their creative expression and appreciation of art.
