GW LAW SCHOOL UNVEILS NEW NATIONAL CENTER FOR STATE COURTS’ COURTROOM DEMONSTRATION CENTER AND CLASSROOM

EVENT: Grand opening celebration for new GW Law School’s National Center for State Courts’ (NCSC) Courtroom Demonstration Center and Classroom. The program will be followed by the First Annual Trial Court Board Fall Mock Trial Competition.

Background:

 

Developed in partnership with the National Center for State Courts, the Jacob Burns Moot Court Room has been re-designed incorporate the demonstration center and provide law students, lawyers and judges with a unique opportunity to explore the ways in which technology can be used to enhance litigation practice.

The event will consist of a live teleconference and demonstrations highlighting the court room’s technological features including podiums with high-resolution digital overhead presenters, video projectors, video monitors, voice-activated transcription recorders and computer terminals. Following the ceremony, the Trial Court Board will host the First Annual Trial Court Board Fall Mock Trial Competition. 

Founded in 1971 by U.S. Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, the NCSC is a nonprofit organization that promotes justice through leadership and service to the state courts.  Through numerous programs and divisions, the NCSC is committed to improving the administration of justice in the United States and abroad. This mission is accomplished through research, education, consulting and information services.

Established in 1865, The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in the District of Columbia. Accredited by the American Bar Association and a charter member of the Association of American Law Schools, the Law School enrolls approximately 1,750 students each year.
