GW TO HOST
GLOBAL FORUM 2002 OCTOBER 17-18
Participants to
Discuss the Promise of Broadband Services Towards
the Multimedia and a Knowledge Society
| EVENT: |
The
George Washington University is hosting the Global Forum 2002, an annual,
independent international event dedicated to business and policy issues
affecting the successful evolution of the information society. Corporate executives, government
officials and senior academics will be in attendance, including former
Secretary of Defense William Cohen and the Honorable Edith
Cresson, former prime minister of France. The Global Forum 2002’s
topic is “A World In Transition: The Promise of Broadband Services Towards
the Multimedia and Knowledge Society,” and it is co-sponsored by The
George Washington University’s Institute for Knowledge Management.

Background:
The George Washington University Institute for Knowledge
Management is a collaborative partnership between Professor Michael
Stankosky of the School of Engineering & Applied Science and Professor
William Halal of the School of Business & Public Management. The Institute
conducts research, education, and consulting work, and strives
to bridge the divide between theory and practice.
The
Global Forum 2002 is a not-for-profit initiative of Items International (France)
and Foundation Sophia Antipolis (France).
It is sponsored by organizations around the world, interested in sharing
and influencing global IT agendas, and enabling business and government leaders
from all sectors of our communities to meet and work with suppliers and service
providers.
