Ashburn, VA  - The George Washington University Virginia Campus Advisory Board announced the appointment of two new members: Gilbert H. Scott, president and CEO of Hurshell Associates and Werner Schaer, president and CEO of the Software Productivity Consortium.

"Each of these exceptional individuals brings a wealth of experience, talent and new ideas to the Board," said Dr. Irwin Price, executive dean of the GW Virginia Campus. "We are proud to have their leadership to help GW forge a new era of growth for the Virginia Campus." Dr. Helena S. Wisniewski, chair of the Advisory Board said, "I extend a warm welcome to our new Advisory Board members. Their strong backgrounds in the Northern Virginia technology community will significantly enhance the board's efforts to help shape GW's innovative academic and research capabilities in Northern Virginia."

Since opening in August 1991, the 50-acre campus has grown from modest beginnings with 200 enrollments and $50,000 in funded research to a strong, vigorous cluster of academic programs with over 3,000 enrollments and funded research that tops $14 million.
