EVENT: The Murrow Boys and Journalist Richard C. Hottelet, The Golden Age of CBS Radio News, sponsored by The George Washington University and The Smithsonian Associates. Interviewing Hottelet will be former general manager of CBS Radio Network and current GW vice president for communications, Michael Freedman.

Background:


Richard C. Hottelet was 26 when he joined CBS News in 1944. He remained with the network for 41 years. He also worked for United Press and was the only American journalist arrested by the Nazis and held until his release in a prisoner exchange. Hottelet will discuss his years as one of the revered “Murrow Boys” during an evening of conversation and recordings of historic radio broadcasts.
