Background:

According to GW Professor Amitai Etzioni, “data shows that on many fronts, including trust in government, commitment to civil rights (versus homeland security) and even the state of the family, Americans are rapidly acting as if 9/11 never happened.  Even the new commitment to volunteerism has dissipated, as it was not given new forms of expression.” These issues and others, including analysis of how the political behavior young adults has changed and the impact of welfare reform will be points of discussion at this forum. The event is being sponsored by the GW Institute of Communitarian Policy Studies.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required. For more information contact Dana Graber at dgraber@gwu.edu or (202) 994-8937, or visit www.communitariannetwork.org. For more news about GW, visit the GW News Center at www.gwnewscenter.org.
