Peggy
Mastroianni, associate legal counsel with the U.S. Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission (EEOC), will speak on disability issues as well as
new trends and developments at the EEOC during the District of Columbia
Business Leadership Network’s (DCBLN) quarterly network series meeting,
hosted by The George Washington University Office of Equal Employment
Opportunity. The George
Washington University serves as the Lead Employer of the
DCBLN.

Background:
Peggy
R. Mastroianni is responsible for developing commission guidance under Title VII
of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the
Equal Pay Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Recent policy documents developed under
Mastroianni’s direction include the development of ADA guidance on reasonable
accommodation, disability related inquiries, medical examinations, workers’
compensation and psychiatric conditions.
As
DCBLN’s Lead Employer, GW's Office of Equal Employment Opportunity hosts this
seminar series on a quarterly basis to educate businesses on the merits of
hiring persons with disabilities.
The quarterly sessions feature guest speakers who address best practices
and other topics for employers interested in expanding the diversity of their
staffs by hiring persons with disabilities.
Located
