
His Excellency Lee Myung-Bak, president of the Republic of Korea, will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree from The George Washington University. The honorary degree will be presented by GW President Steven Knapp in a ceremony.

BACKGROUND:
President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak is visiting Washington, D.C., June 15 to 17, and is scheduled to meet with U.S. President Barack Obama. President Lee was elected president on December 19, 2007, and was sworn in as the 17th president of the Republic of Korea on February 25th, 2008.
