PREPARING LANGUAGE TEACHERS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY: SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LANGUAGE TEACHER EDUCATION

EVENT:  

GW's Graduate School of Education and Human Development's National Capital Language Resource Center is conducting an international conference titled "Preparing Language Teachers for the 21st Century: Sixth International Conference on Language Teacher Education," for practitioners and researchers involved in the preparation and professional development of language teachers. Language Teacher Education 2009 will address the education of all language teachers at all instructional and institutional levels and in many national and international contexts in which this takes place including: English as a Second Language (ESL), English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction and foreign, modern and world language.

  • Bill Johnston, associate professor of comparative literature and TESOL and applied linguistics, Indiana University
  • Karen E. Johnson, liberal arts resident professor of applied linguistics, Pennsylvania State University
  • and Simon Borg, reader in TESOL, University of Leeds
