A former staff writer for Congressional Quarterly, Marc Leepson has been a full-time freelance writer since 1986. He has written for many newspapers and magazines, including The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, Smithsonian, Military History, Civil War Times, and Preservation. He also has been a guest on radio and television news programs, including NPR's All Things Considered, Morning Edition, On the Media, Talk of the Nation, and MSNBC. Leepson is the author of several books on American history and also teaches the subject at Lord Fairfax Community College in Warrenton, Va.

Daniel J. O'Donnell has been a Democratic member of the New York state legislature since he was elected in 2002. He represents the 69th assembly district of the state, which is located in New York City's upper west side of Manhattan. Before being elected to the state legislature, O'Donnell served for seven years as a public defender in the Brooklyn office of the Legal Aid Society and then opened his own public interest law firm. A graduate of GW and CUNY School of Law, he is the first openly gay man in the New York State Assembly and also is the brother of entertainer Rosie O'Donnell.
