GW Gives Life to the Community through Blood Donation
On April 27, the American Red Cross presented GW President Steven Knapp with a plaque for GW's continued commitment to its blood donation program.
Since fall 2007, the GW community has donated 2,334 pints of blood, which have contributed to saving more than 6,000 lives in and around the greater Washington, D.C., area.
GW's significant contribution to the American Red Cross demonstrates a University-wide commitment to providing assistance to neighbors throughout the community. In honor of this commitment, GW reconfirmed its future participation in the blood donation program following the presentation.
As the nation's premier emergency response organization, the American Red Cross offers service in the processing and distribution of lifesaving blood and blood products for emergencies locally and internationally.
