CENTER FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES RECEIVES
FIVE-YEAR GRANT FOR VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION

GW's Graduate School of Education and Human Development received a five-year grant to support the Technical Assistance and Continuing Education Center for Individuals with Disabilities, which is located within the Rehabilitation Counseling Department. The grant will fund the center's vocational rehabilitation goals.

The center hopes to increase the availability of vocational rehabilitation services in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as improve the quality and quantity of employment experiences for persons with disabilities within the region's vocational rehabilitation agencies and partners.

Designated by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration, the grant allocates $795,000 per year to the department, which will total nearly four million dollars during the five-year period.

Dr. Maureen McGuire-Kuletz, associate professor of counseling, will serve as principal investigator for the Technical Assistance and Continuing Education Center, along with Dr. Robert Froehlich, research scientist, as assistant project director and Joan Kester as research associate for the center.
