"In Partnership: Steven Knapp and the GW Community" Focuses on the
Academic Achievements of the University's 16th President

WASHINGTON - An exhibit welcoming Steven Knapp, The George Washington University's 16th president, will open at the Gelman Library's First Floor Exhibit Room, located at 2130 H Street, NW, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.  "In Partnership: Steven Knapp and the GW Community" highlights Knapp's community involvement and his academic accomplishments.  A display of Knapp's published and draft scholarly works also is included.

"This collection serves to showcase President Knapp's outstanding past achievements and connect them to a new chapter at the University," said Jack A. Siggins, GW University librarian.

The exhibit is open to the public during the library's regular business hours.  Community members, neighbors, and guests must present GWorld or photo identification to enter the Gelman Library.

A week-long series of events and activities commemorating the inauguration of Knapp as GW's 16th president will take place Nov. 13 - 16, 2007.  The culminating event will be Knapp's formal inauguration on Nov. 16.  More information about the schedule of events is available at http://inauguration.gwu.edu
