·             A forum on privacy vs. public safety hosted by GW's Institute for Communitarian Policy Studies and moderated by University Professor Amitai Etzioni was broadcast live by C-Span. Voice of America, Gannett News Service, Nikkei News and Washington Internet Daily also covered the event, which featured Orin Kerr, associate professor of law, on the panel.

 

·             Vahid Motevalle, director of GW's Aviation Safety and Security Management Program, was interview by WTTG-TV (Channel 5) about Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta's comments on airport security.

 

·             Elliott School’s Jerrold Post, professor of psychiatry, political psychology and international affairs and director of GW's political psychology program, was recognized in the December 2001 issue of the Washingtonian magazine as one of Washington’s 50 best and brightest for his work as a founding father of political psychology.

 

·             Derek Chollet, visiting scholar at the Elliott School’s Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, had an op-ed piece titled “Don’t make Hussein the focus of Phase 2” published in The Baltimore Sun.

 

·             Allan Gerson, professor of professor of international relations, had an op-ed published in The New York Times on whether bin Laden should be brought to trial.

 

·             John Logsdon, director of GW's Space Policy Institute, was quoted in The Boston Globe about previous NASA director Daniel Goldin.
