Leon Fuerth, J.B. and Maurice C. Schapiro Professor of
International Affairs at GW's Elliott School, had an op-ed article published in
The Washington Post titled "Why We Fight." C-SPAN covered Fuerth's lecture on
"Revisiting the End of History: The
Coming of a New Historical Era." In
addition, Fuerth was interviewed by the BBC and C-SPAN about security issues
after the September 11th attacks.

Elliott School's Ambassador Karl F. Inderfurth, Raymond and
Juliet Bland Professorial Lecturer, wrote an op-ed article for The New York
Times titled "Leftovers From an Old War."

Elliott School's Allan Gerson, co-director of GW's
Institute for Peacebuilding and Development, appeared on NBC's "Today Show" and
"Geraldo" promoting his newly released book "The Price of Terror." Gerson, who co-authored the book with
"Newsweek's" Jerry Adler, is on a national publicity
tour.

Dr. Richard Becker, GW medical director, was interviewed on
WTTG-TV (Channel 5) as part of a show examining the two months that have passed
since the 9/11 terrorists attacks.
Becker discussed GW Hospital's role in responding to the 9/11 attacks and
anthrax epidemic. Becker was also
featured on WUSA-TV (Channel 9) in a discussion on how The George Washington
University Hospital has been responding to the anthrax
scare.

Marilyn Liebrenz-Himes, associate professor of marketing,
was interviewed by WTTG-TV (Channel 5) about store displays and other tactics
retailers use to convert shoppers into buyers.

Dr. Farid Gharagozloo, cardiothoracic surgery, was
interviewed on WTTG-TV (Channel 5) about video assisted thoracic surgical
lobectomy.
·
Dr. John F. Williams, vice president for health affairs and
SMHS dean, was interviewed on WMAL-630 AM about the anthrax
scare.
·
Joan Echols, director of the Graduate Career Center, was
interviewed by Business Week about employment and internship prospects
for MBA students. She also talked
about creative new initiatives the Center is taking to match students and
employers.
·
Dr. Tee L. Guiodotti, chair of the department of
environmental and occupational health, was interviewed on the public health
threats of anthrax by the CBC and the BBC.
·
The George Washington University and The Children's
National Medical Center along with the University of Pittsburgh School of
Medicine did a study on repeated pregnancy loss, which was featured in the
September issue of the "American Journal of Obstetrics and
Gynecology."
·
Ernie Englander, associate professor of business and public
policy, was interviewed by Reuters about Enron and energy
regulation.
·
Lisa Delpy-Neirotti, associate professor of sport and
tourism management, was quoted in The Baltimore Sun regarding the
Baltimore-Washington Olympic bid.
She discussed the region's selection as a finalist, along with Houston,
New York, and San Francisco.
·
Ginger Smith, assistant professor of tourism management,
was interviewed by the Singapore New Paper, a British newspaper, about
tourism and terrorism.
·
SBPM Dean Susan Phillips was interviewed by "Money"
magazine about the U.S. Federal Reserve System.
·
Robert Moll, director of Communications, was interviewed by
the International Herald Tribune about partnerships between business
schools and the private sector.
