talking about holiday travel.
·
Jerold Post, professor of psychiatry and political
psychology, was featured on CNN and quoted in The Boston Globe and The
Washington Post concerning the Anthrax scare.
·
GW Hospital was mentioned in The Washington Post
several times for its role in anthrax testing.
·
Dr. John Pan, who heads GW Medical Center's Center for
Integrative Medicine, was quoted in The Washington Post regarding the
aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.
·
Alberto Benitez, professor of law, was featured in The
Hartford Advocate’s cover story discussing flaws in new anti-terrorism laws
aimed at immigrants. Benitez was
also quoted by The San Jose
Mercury News in a story outlining a stalled California bill allowing illegal
immigrants to obtain a drivers license.

Dr. Jeffrey Levi, co-director of the Center for Health
Services Research and Policy at GW, was interviewed by "CBS Sunday Morning" on
how to communicate to the public during health emergencies.

Charles Craver, professor of law, discussed the large
number of job bias cases before the U.S. Supreme Court in The National Law
Journal, Miami Daily Business Review, Palm Beach Daily Business Review,
and The Fulton County Daily Report.

Paul Butler, professor of law had an op-ed published in
The Legal Times regarding child pornography and free
speech.

Jeffrey Rosen, professor of law was quoted in "The National
Journal’s Technology Daily" regarding new anti-terrorism proposals and
privacy. Rosen was also quoted in
The Hartford Courant on airport security cameras.

Peter Swire, professor of law, had an op-ed published in
The Atlanta Journal Constitution on the USA Act and civil liberties. Swire was quoted in Business Week
in a story on banks freezing assets in an effort to trace terrorist funds. The New York Times quoted Swire
in an article regarding F.B.I. Internet wiretaps.

Orin Kerr and Peter Swire, professors of law, were
quoted on "Wired" in a story regarding the recording industry’s proposal to hack
into personal computers and delete stolen MP3 files.
·
Stephen Saltzburg, professor of law, was quoted by The
National Law Journal in a story outlining the Department of Justice’s desire
for prosecutions on the September 11th attacks to take place in the United
States. Saltzburg was also quoted
by Reuters discussing fair trials for conspirators in the September 11th
attacks.

Law School Dean Michael K. Young was quoted by The
Washington Times in a story on coalition allies who violate religious
freedom. Young was also featured in
a story on religious rights and the war on terrorism in The Desseret
News.
·
GW MPH Students from the Student Association appeared on
CNN "Talk Back Live" to comment on the latest Anthrax
scares.
·
Ronald H. Spector, professor of history and international
affairs, had his new book, "At War at Sea: Sailors and Naval Combat in the
Twentieth Century," reviewed in the November/December 2001 issue of "Foreign
Affairs" magazine.
·
Dr. James Griffith, professor of psychiatry and neurology,
was quoted in a "U.S. News and World Report" article titled "The Second Wave:
Physicians Brace for the Coming Siege On Body and Mind." Dr. Griffith was also
interviewed by Radio Free Europe, Canadian Network and Global Television Network
on how Americans are coping with the ongoing threat of
terrorism.

Jeffrey Akman, department chair of psychiatry and
behavioral sciences, was interviewed by Voice of America regarding the phone
bank screening for Acute Stress Disorder. This was a project in partnership with
a trauma team from the University of New Mexico, Washington Psychiatric Society
and The George Washington University.

Julia Frank, associate professor of psychiatry, was
interviewed by "Prevention Magazine" and "Intelihealth," a Web magazine, about
mental health during times of crisis.
·
Dr. Tee L. Guidotti, department chair of environmental and
occupational health, did an interview with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
on bio-terrorism.
·
