  • Mary Cheh, professor of law, was interviewed on "CNN Live This Morning" on the Supreme Court's handling of Napoleon Beazley's appeal of his death penalty sentence. 

 

  • Dorn McGrath, professor of Urban and Regional Planning and geography, was interviewed on WTTG-TV about a 1982 study reported on storm drain problems.

 

  • "GW Washington Forum" featured Charlene Rivera, director of the Center for Equity and Excellence in Education. Rivera discussed what the Center does and the many studies they are working on.

 

  • Kip Lornell, professor of Africana studies, was quoted in The New York Times and The Washington Times about local musician, Chuck Brown.  The Washington Times also mentioned Lornell's book "The Beat! Go Go's Fusion of Funk and Hip Hop."

 

  • Stephen Saltzburg, professor of law, was interviewed on "CNN Live at Daybreak" on the Supreme Court's case on Napoleon Beazley's death penalty appeal.

 

  • Jeffrey Rosen, professor of law, was interviewed on NPR's "All Things Considered" about the Napoleon Beazley's death penalty sentence.

 

  • Annie Judge staff psychologist of GW's University Counseling Center, was interviewed by Newsweek Carlton Television for a documentary to be aired on the A&E channel. The topic of the interview was the culture of beauty in our society.

 

  • Footage of the GW campus was featured in a "News Hour with Jim Lehrer" story on high-tech classrooms.

 

  • Mary Futrell, dean of the Graduate School of Education and Human Development, was interviewed by The Howard County Times (Columbia, MD), on the topic of over enrollment in private schools.

 

  • Dan Small, director of Student Financial Assistance, was interviewed by The District Chronicle on the Higher Education Act of 1988.

 

  • In-studio for this week's "GW Washington Forum" was GW's Timothy McCafferey, associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, and Dr. Kenneth Schaffner, professor of medical humanities and philosophy.  The discussion was on stem cell research and human cloning.
