Gordon Adams, director of theElliott School’s Security Policy Program and professor of the practice of international affairs, wrote an article in the Financial Times discussing the division of Europe (7/1). He was interviewed by The Baltimore Sun regarding the National Security Administration (7/15). Finally, he authored an op-ed titled "A National Security Scorecard for the United States," that appeared in The Globalist (7/15).

Brian Biles, professor of health policy, was quoted in the Congress Daily/A.M. discussing the government’s changes in the Medicare program (7/8).  He was also quoted in The Wall Street Journal discussing the same topic (7/11).

 

Nathan Brown, professor of political science and international affairs, was quoted in The Jerusalem Post discussing President Bush’s involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (7/4).

 

Michael Cornfield, research director of the Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet, was quoted in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Times discussing Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean’s campaigning progress via the Internet (7/4).   He was also quoted in Time magazine discussing MoveOn.org and Howard Dean’s campaigning success (7/14).  He was quoted in The Guardian (UK) (7/14) and USA Today (7/15) discussing the same topic.

 

Charles B. Craver, Leroy Sorenson Merrifield Research Professor of Law, had his book, “The Intelligent Negotiator: What to Say, What to Do, and How to Get What You Want - Every Time,” reviewed in the Texas Lawyer (7/7).

 

Carol Darr, director of the Institute for Politics, Democracy and the Internet, was quoted in USA Today Democratic presidential hopeful Howard Dean’s Internet campaign (7/15).

 

Jocelyn Anne Glazier, assistant professor of secondary education, wrote an article in the Harvard Educational Review discussing how education should promote cultural fluency (7/1).

 

James Goldgeier, associate professor of political science and international affairs, was quoted in The Baltimore Sun and The Seattle Times discussing the Bush administration’s possible plan to put NATO in charge of the military occupation of Iraq (7/9).

 

Ambassador Karl Inderfurth, professor of the practice of international affairs in the Elliott School, was interviewed by BBC’s “Asia Today” program on the topic of India’s decision not to contribute peacekeeping troops in Iraq as requested by the Bush Administration (7/15).

  

Darryl Jenkins, director of the Aviation Institute, was quoted in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette discussing the legal dispute between US Airways and the Allegheny County Airport Authority (7/9).  He was also quoted in The New York Times discussing smaller, low-cost airlines (7/9).  Finally, he was quoted in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch discussing how U.S. airports need to cut costs (7/13, 7/14, 7/15).

 

Philip Joyce, associate professor of public administration, was quoted in Market News International discussing the White House budget report (7/14).

 

John Lachin, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics, was quoted in Diabetes Week and Clinical Trials Week about type-1 diabetes (7/7).  He was also quoted in Drug Week discussing the same topic (7/11).

 

John Logsdon, director of the Elliott School’s Space Policy Institute and member of the Columbia Shuttle Accident Investigation Board, was quoted in The Canadian Press, USA Today, AP Newswire and The Washington Post discussing the foam that caused the shuttle’s failure (7/2, 7/3, 7/10).  He was also quoted in The Boston Globe discussing NASA’s Daniel Goldin and his recent appointment as the new president of Boston University (7/9).  He was quoted in Dow Jones International News, Los Angeles Times and Associated Press Newswire discussing the soon-to-be-complete Columbia Shuttle accident report (7/10, 7/11).  The same story ran in The Washington Times (7/12), The Star Ledger (Newark, NJ) (7/13), The Washington Post (7/13), the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (7/13) and The Hamilton Spectator (Toronto, Canada) (7/14).

Christopher Sterling, professor of media and public affairs and of telecommunications, was quoted by the Los Angeles Times about a public radio station in California outsourcing its marketing for underwriting sponsors to corporate radio giant Clear Channel Communications ((7/7).

 

Jonathan Turley, professor of law, was quoted in The Baltimore Sun discussing the Justice Department and its fight against terrorism (7/11).  He was also quoted in The Mail on Sunday (UK) discussing the military tribunals of two British prisoners (7/13). Finally, he wrote a Los Angeles Times op-ed titled, “Skewed Justice for Muslims,” about the U.S. government treating Arab-Americans and Muslims differently, especially in terrorism cases (7/13).
