GW was mentioned in a Washington Post story about Aramark’s decision to stop selling caged-hens eggs in District Market campus grocery store (4/21).

A D.C. “e-cycling” event co-sponsored by GW was covered by WRC-TV (NBC 4) technology reporter I.J. Hudson (4/21).

GW was mentioned by Biotech Week about research the University is conducting in the neuroscience area (4/20).

GW was mentioned by Voice of America Press about a “model” United Nations conference held at the University (4/25).

Gordon Adams, director of the security policy program and professor of the practice of international affairs, was quoted by Business Week about Lockheed Martin Corp. profits for 2004 and 2005 (4/18).  

Martin Adelman, Theodore and James Pedas Family Professor of Intellectual Property and Technology Law, was quoted by FinancialTimes about patent law as it relates to domestic pharmaceutical companies (4/17, 4/18).

John Banzhaf, professor of law, was quoted by Today ( Singapore) (4/19) and the Rocky Mountain News (4/22) about obesity lawsuits. He was mentioned in a Washington Times story about a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that obesity deaths have been overstated (4/20). Finally, Banzhaf was quoted by the Los Angeles DailyNews about Los Angeles Community College adding more bathroom stalls for women (4/25).

Lisa Benton Short, assistant professor of geography, was quoted by The SydneyMorning Herald about the demand for intellectual talent in major population centers (4/23).

Sarah Binder, associate professor of political science, discussed the potential f ilibusters of judicial nominees with the following outlets: Associated Press (4/16, 4/22), Charlestown Gazette, The Boston Globe (4/18), The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (4/24), The Washington Post, and NBC Nightly News (4/25).

Elias Carayannis, professor of management science, was interviewed by Voice ofAmerica in regards to industrial espionage (4/29).

Charles Craver, Freda H. Alverson Professor of Law, was quoted in a Sun Sentinel story about service industry workers (4/17) and in a Philadelphia Inquirer story about labor laws (4/27).

Mark Feldstein, associate professor of media and public affairs, was quoted by the Patriot News about television news ratings (4/17).

Warren Greenberg, clinical professor of pediatrics, was quoted by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about surging hospital costs (4/30).

Balaji Hebbar, part-time professor of religion, was quoted by The Press Trust of India, The Washington Post (4/17), and the Associated Press (4/24) about claims that Hinduism is stereotyped in school textbooks.

Stephen Hess, distinguished professor of media and public affairs, was quoted by the Times Union about President Bush’s judicial nominations (4/24).

Tyra Hilliard, director of the International Institute of Tourism Studies, was quoted by Meeting News about selling procedures for hotels (4/11).

Amb. Karl Inderfurth, professor of the practice of international affairs, was quoted by India Today about issues in India (4/11).

Lynda Maddox, professor of business administration, appeared on Alhurra television discussing global consumer marketing (4/20).

John Logsdon, professor of political science and international affairs, was quoted in a New York Times article about NASA returning to space (4/17).

Lawrence Mitchell, professor of law, was quoted by The Washington Times about Xybernaut stock increases (4/21).

Mike Mochizuki, director of the Sigur Center for Asian Studies, wrote an op-ed that ran in The Washington Times titled “Calming the Japan China Rift” (4/21).

Vahid Motevalli, associate research professor of engineering, was interviewed by KCBS radio in San Francisco about the effect of oil prices on airfare (4/22). He was also interviewed by WJLA-TV (ABC 7) on the new Airbus 380 (4/27).

Fitzhugh Mullen, clinical professor of health care sciences, was quoted by States NewsService, Voice of America, and The Wall Street Journal about global health concerns (4/20, 4/21).

Brian Richmond, assistant professor of anthropology, was quoted by New Scientist about stone tools found at a 2.34-million-year-old site in Kenya (4/9).

Jeffrey Rosen, professor of law, wrote a New York Times op-ed titled “The Unregulated Offensive” (4/17). His book, Your Right to Say It, was featured in The New York Times Book Review (4/17). Rosen was interviewed by ABC World News Tonight about a child pornography case (4/21).  

Steven Schooner, associate professor of law, was quoted by The Washington Post about Fairfax County’s emergency vehicles dispatch technology (4/17). Schooner was quoted by The Washington Post on the possible cancellation of Boeing’s contract with the Pentagon (4/27).

David Shambaugh, professor of political science and international affairs, was quoted by The Asian Wall Street Journal in regards to issues in China (4/22).  

Daniel Solove, associate professor of law, was quoted by The Seattle Times about identity theft (4/17).

James Starrs, professor of law and of forensic sciences, appeared on Radio Free Europe about the law enforcement response to home-grown terrorism. He also was interviewed by the U.S. World News about the increased interest in forensics (4/25).

Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, GW president, had his op-ed about the relationship between universities and business published in the Washington Business Journal .

Jonathan Turley, J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Professor of Public Service Law, was quoted by Roll Call (4/18), the Associated Press, Omaha World Herald, The Seattle Times, The Christian Science Monitor (4/20), Dow Jones (4/22), and Tulsa World (4/24) about President Bush’s judicial nominations. He was quoted by Agence France Press (4/20, 4/22, 4/23), The Washington Post (4/21), CTV News (4/22), and The Australian (4/23) about the legal case of Zacarias Moussaoui. He wrote an op-ed titled “Disputed Dozen Not Completely Dirty” that was featured in the Times Union (4/21). Turley was quoted by The Richmond Times-Dispatch about the increasing number of prisoners in prison (4/25). Finally, he wrote an op-ed that featured in The Cincinnati Post titled “There’s Room for Compromise on Judicial Posts” (4/26).
