As a
complement to our regular clipping service, “GW In The News” is a weekly roundup
provided by the Department of Media Relations to highlight recent media
coverage.

Ambasador Karl Inderfurth, Professor of the Practice of
International Affairs at the Elliott School, appeared on ABC’s Nightline on the
topic of the Caspian Sea and the Afghanistan pipeline.
·
Elliott School’s Ambassador David Shinn did an interview
with VOA-TV on Somalia. It will become part of a 30-minute "Africa Special
Report" on Somalia that will air in a variety of ways and languages in
June.

Dr. Christina Puchalski, director of GW's Institute for
Spirituality and Health, was featured in Science & Spirit Magazine,
Research News and Opportunities in Science and Theology. In addition, she was interviewed on
WMAL –AM and the television show "The Right Side With Armstrong Williams" about
preparing for death.

The George Washington University's Weight Management
Program was mentioned in the Washington Post's Health Section.
·
Dr. Alan Wasserman, Eugene Meyer Professor of Medicine and
Chairman, Department of Medicine, President, Medical Faculty Associates, Inc.,
was quoted in the Agence France Presse, The Charlotte Observer,
and The Associated Press State & Local Wire regarding Senator Jesse Helms'
open heart surgery.

John Logsdon, director of GW's Space Policy Institute, was
quoted in an article in the online Discoverychannel.com. The article reviewed
NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe’s lecture at GW. Logsdon was also quoted in The
Christian Science Monitor about space tourism.

Leon Fuerth, J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Professor of
International Affairs at GW's Elliott School, had an op-ed article published in
The Washington Post titled, “On Russia, Think Bigger.”
·
Elliott School’s Walter Reich, Yitzhak
Rabin Memorial Professor of International Affairs, Ethics and Human Behavior,
had an editorial published in Los Angeles Times titled, “Broaden U.N.
Jenin Inquiry to Include the Palestinians.”
·
Sara Rosenbaum, professor of health policy, was quoted in
the Financial Times (London) about prescription benefits.
·
Jonathan
Turley,
professor of law, had an op-ed published in Newsday (New York) about Zacarias
Moussaoui's trial.
