James O. Horton, Benjamin Banneker Professor of American
Studies and History, was mentioned in The Washington Post and "People
Magazine" regarding a History channel documentary that he narrated on famous and
little known African-American landmarks.

Philip Joyce, associate professor of public administration,
was quoted by The Chicago Tribune in an article about the Bush budget's
color-coded rating system.
·
Charles Toftoy, director of GW's entrepreneurship program,
was mentioned in The Reno Gazette-Journal about a workshop moderated by
at the United States Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship
conference in January.
·
Kip Lornell, professor of Africana studies, was interviewed
by Reuters for an article about go-go.
Lornell was also interviewed by BBC News and "Current Affairs" about the
life and recent death of folk singer Dave Van Ronk. Additionally, he was interviewed
on NPR's "Morning Edition" for a story on the influence of black music on
barbershop quartets.

SBPM Dean Susan Phillips was interviewed by Dow Jones
Newswire about governor vacancies at the U.S. Federal
Reserve.

Dr. Michael Olding, professor of cosmetic surgery, was
interviewed on WUSA-TV (Channel 9) about botox, the medication being used for
the elimination of wrinkles.

Jeffrey Henig, professor of political science, was
interviewed by WUSA-TV (Channel 9) about the battle between Prince George's
County, MD school board members and the county's Superintendent Iris T.
Metts.

Dr. Raul Mandler, professor of neurology, was featured on
WTTG-TV's (Channel 5) "High Tech Healthcare" segment about new advances in the
treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis.

Dr. May Chin, of GW's anesthesiology department, was
interviewed by "U.S. News and World Report" about pain management in
hospitals.
·
Adele Ashcar,
professor in GW Solutions' Center for Professional Development, was interviewed
by the "Washingtonian Magazine" about the landscape design
program.
·
Dr. Keith Holtermann, assistant dean for health sciences,
was interviewed by BBC Worldwide TV, in a discussion about the funding for
Homeland Defense.
·
Dr. Rachel Brem, of GW's Breast Imaging department, was
featured on WJLA-TV (Channel 7) discussing the Dilon Breast Imaging Camera and
its life-saving capabilities, particularly for women with dense breast
tissue.

Dr. Arthur Frank, director of GW's Weight Management
Clinic, was featured on KMSP-TV (UPN Channel 9 in Minneapolis), and KDFW-TV (Fox
Channel 4 in Dallas) regarding research that suggests a virus can cause some
forms of obesity.
·
GW was mentioned on KTLA (WB Channel 5 in Los Angeles)
about a study conducted at GW regarding breast cancer being more fatal among
blacks.
