Title: Torsion in the KBSM of a 3-manifold Caused by an Incompressible
Torus and Detected by a Complete Hyperbolic Structure

Abstract: We describe an example of a 3-manifold whose Kauffman Bracket
Skein Module (KBSM) has torsion.
The 3-manifold is the double of a hyperbolic knot complement. The torsion is shown to
exist using representations of hyperbolic knots and an idea due to D. Bullock about
algebra homomorphisms induced by representations into SL_2(C). This example is due to J.
H.Przytycki. A general conjecture based on this example is formulated.
