Course Rotation Plan The table below shows the current plan for course offerings in Mathematics. This table should be regarded as in internal planning document. We are making it public to help students with their long-range schedule planning. Our intention is to follow this plan, but we may make occasional changes. Undergraduate Courses: All courses numbered below 100 are offered at least once a year, and most are offered twice a year. Most courses numbered below 100 are also offered in Summer School. Math 31, 32, and 33 are considered prerequisite courses in that they are prerequisites for most other courses (see the Bulletin for details). Math 84 (previously 124) is also prerequisite for certain advanced courses. Math 191 and Math 195 are available only by special arrangement. Other undergraduate courses rotate on a 1-year or 2-year cycle. They are considered core courses if they are required for one of the three department majors. Otherwise they are considered electives. The rotation is shown on the table below. [More information on undergraduate courses and our undergraduate program]. Graduate Courses: Courses numbered 200 or above are graduate courses. Course descriptions for all graduate courses are given in the Bulletin. Some 100 level courses may be taken for graduate credit, subject to suitable additional work requirements and approval of the student's advisor and the Department Graduate Committee. These courses are Math 101, 102, 103, 113, 132, 139, 140, 148, 170, and 181. Whenever possible, the Department will offer one additional graduate course on a topic to be determined. [More
