What Services Do We Offer?

A. Telephone and Clinical Consultations:
The unique thing about MACCHE is that we can bring together physicians with expertise in both pediatrics and environmental health into the same clinic visit. We provide telephone consultations for parents, physicians, nurses, departments of public health and others. At Children's National Medical Center (CNMC) we also provide clinical consultation and evaluation of children with health problems that may be related to their environment .

B. Health Education:
In an effort to increase the knowledge and awareness of children's environmental health issues among pediatricians and other health care providers, the physicians and environmental health experts in the MACCHE speak at hospital grand rounds and other ongoing seminars. They also promote awareness of environmental health hazards by conducting specific seminars to educate academic medical and nursing faculty as well as recruit pediatric sub-specialists to assist in development of specialty-specific environmentally health information.

C. Resource Guide:
As part of the MACCHE educational component, we provide access to an organized library that includes a collection of existing educational materials that may prove beneficial to improving the knowledge of the community on children's environmental health. The MACCHE also develops training materials and disseminates authoritative information on children's health and the environment to practitioners, public health officials, parents, and concerned in the region. There are various links on this website that may be specific to your concerns or questions.
