Professor Ticktin, Assistant professor of Hebrew in the Classics Department and Associate Director of the Program in Judaic Studies, teaches courses in Hebrew language and contemporary Israeli literature. He has also taught Roots of Western Civilization in the Humanities program and Hebrew Scriptures in the Religion Department.

Trained at the Jewish Theological Seminary and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he is in his twentieth year at The George Washington University.

His major fields of research are in the area of modern Jewish cultural and literary history.
