Professor Ticktin is the Assistant Director of the Program in Judaic Studies and teaches courses in Hebrew language, Yiddish language and literature, as well as contemporary Israeli literature. He has also taught Roots of Western Civilization in the Humanities program and Hebrew Scriptures in the Religion Department. Trained at the Jewish Theological Seminary and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, he has been at The George Washington University for over twenty years. His major fields of research are Biblical Literature, and modern Jewish cultural and literary history.
