A playwright with more than eleven scripts produced professionally, director Leslie Jacobson has been nominated three times for Helen Hayes Awards in the category of outstanding direction, and several of her productions for Horizons Theatre, of which she is founder and artistic director, won the coveted award. Her numerous writing credits include "A...My Name is Alice" and "Rhythms", both Helen Hayes Award Winners, as well as "Croak...Or The Last Frog" and "In Good Company: The Kosher Edition". Ms. Jacobson is the past president of The League of Washington Theatres. Ms. Jacobson helped to inaugurate the Women in the Arts program at George Washington's Mt. Vernon Campus, and the MFA in Classical Acting with the Shakespeare Theatre. In 2002, Ms. Jacobson directed "One of A Few," a play about two women-one Jewish and the other Catholic-and the friendship they formed in Warsaw of 1943, brought to The George Washington University through a generous donation from the Cooper-Wallerstein Fund.
