Almost all the students who come to GWU are recruited for an on campus job position.

There are many openings around campus and the major recruiters at the university are:

4. Health and Wellness Center
5. Tompkins Hall of Engineering.
6. Business School
7. Facilities Management.
8. Law School
9. Jobs at Mount Vernon Campus.
10. Student Technology Services.
11. Academic Technologies.
12. Others.

The pay scale for the above mentioned jobs varies from $7-15/hr. depending on which position and where one is working. These are the job figures from the last year. There are some jobs which require special skills and are also paid more as compared the other. The one major thing to understand here is that with any job on campus you will be only able to take care of your living expenses and would not have to pay some part of your tuition.

Most of the students end up getting their first job with University Police Department. This is a good job to start with as it pays 10 USD for an hour and also nothing much except to stay awake and active and not to sleep.

Marvin Centre also has a bunch of jobs which pays you a little less (8 – 10 USD) but they have a lot of openings and may fetch a job easily.

Among the above mentioned list of jobs the Business School, Gelman Library, Student Technologies Services, Academic technologies, Tompkins Hall and at the Mount Vernon Campus mostly prefer people with computer skills though they hire people without computer skills.

Apart from these above mentioned jobs, there are many more jobs available in different schools and department. The major source of information for any on campus job openings would be the GW Career Center website.

One may also check his/her own department for the tutor and grader position. It can be a good idea to ask your own advisor if he/she needs any grader or tutor.
